Family Series Media, Technology, and the Family – Week 5
Dear Follower, The digital revolution has brought families closer — and pulled them apart.
The Connection Advantage Video calls, instant messaging, and social platforms allow families to remain in touch across continents.
The Distraction Dilemma At the same time, screen time competes with face-to-face connection. Social media fosters comparison, sometimes undermining self-esteem and family cohesion.
Narratives that Shape Reality Media portrayals of “ideal” families can set unrealistic expectations, leading to dissatisfaction with real-life relationships.
The family must learn to use technology as a tool for connection and empowerment — not as a substitute for presence and shared experiences.
As we end 2025, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your companionship throughout this year. May this season bring you peace, joy, and renewed purpose as we step together into the promise of a new year.
Kind regards,
Ayoob Rawat
