PWFO — Professional & Practical Training in Private Wealth & Family Office Practice · Delivered Online
Broaden Your Students' Professional Horizons: A CFO-Style Approach to Private Wealth
Offer students and alumni a broader view of what a career in wealth can involve. PWFO develops the CFO-style capabilities that help a family understand and oversee its whole financial position: a professional direction beyond investment selection and product sales.
Built on PWFO's original teaching and Swiss private-wealth perspective, the programme gives your institution a specialist addition to its portfolio for accountants, bankers, finance graduates and experienced professionals. PWFO provides the online learning. The school retains responsibility for academic and partnership review, suitable introductions and agreed coordination. The referral arrangement gives the school a commercial return alongside the educational and institutional benefits; it does not change the school's own awards.
CFO Versus CIO: Why This Matters to Your Institution
A Chief Investment Officer (CIO) focuses on investment strategy, portfolios and performance. Product sales is a different activity: distributing financial products. A professional investment manager should not be confused with a product salesperson.
PWFO teaches the complementary CFO-style perspective: bringing together a family's assets, debts, cash commitments, provider costs and records, then supporting scrutiny, coordination, monitoring and reporting. The practitioner works from the family's overall position, including responsibilities across banks, countries, currencies and generations.
This widens the range of career directions your institution can present. Students do not have to see wealth careers solely as selling products or choosing investments. Accountants and other non-investment finance professionals can explore how their existing strengths in evidence, controls and reporting apply to private wealth and family office practice.
The professional contribution is an agreed oversight service, supported by independence and transparent remuneration, rather than a product-sales target. Investment literacy is essential for asking informed questions; PWFO practitioners do not give Financial Advice or make investment decisions. The course develops capability, not an automatic job title or placement.
What the School Gains
- A Broader Professional Proposition for Your Students. Add a CFO-style pathway in private wealth and family office practice alongside investment-focused finance education, using PWFO's existing specialist teaching.
- An International Dimension to Your Portfolio. A substantive Swiss private-wealth perspective to discuss with students, alumni and professional audiences, with the relationship described accurately and approved in writing.
- A Stronger Response to AI-Era Career Questions. A practical way to discuss how accounting, banking and reporting capabilities can develop into judgement, oversight and coordination for families as routine tasks change. No placement outcome is promised.
- A Reason to Reconnect With Alumni and Working Professionals. Use the same specialist option with former students and professionals; any distinct executive offering needs its own agreement.
- A Platform for Industry Conversations. The course's concrete case work supports discussions about the skills accountants, bankers and family-business professionals need. No employer partnership or access to clients is implied.
- A Starting Point for Future Collaboration. Subject to separate agreement, explore guest discussions, alumni learning or further specialist education as demand develops. These are additional to the weekly FAQ sessions.
- Specialist Content Without a New Teaching Department. PWFO provides the online learning and the weekly FAQ sessions; the school still has academic review, introductions and coordination to perform.
- Regular Contact With PWFO for Your Learners. For every five students enrolled through the school, PWFO will offer a weekly, hour-long FAQ session.
- A Transparent Commercial Return. Under a signed agreement, each eligible full-price referral generates ₹40,000 for the school, with ₹60,000 allocated to PWFO before costs. No upfront school fee is proposed.
The Three Pillars in Practice
1. Professional Opportunity During AI Disruption
Automation and AI are changing routine accounting, banking and reporting work. The programme gives finance learners structured practice in what remains a person's responsibility: questioning information, explaining uncertainty and owning a conclusion. It does not promise jobs, earnings or placement outcomes.
2. Private Wealth and Swiss Expertise
Private and family wealth combines investments, property, family businesses, borrowing and responsibilities across generations and currencies. PWFO brings its Swiss Certified standard and a Swiss private-wealth emphasis on careful records, independence and discretion. No government accreditation, regulatory endorsement or client access is implied.
3. Human Intelligence in the Age of AI
Learners practise judgement, trust, independence, discretion, critical thinking, accountability, relationships and stewardship through decisions with consequences: declining an introducer fee, correcting a confident but wrong AI-drafted note, and replying fairly to family members who disagree.
Try the Mehta Preview
Give your academic team and prospective learners a short, approachable introduction before they consider the full programme.
Meet Rajiv and Anjali in Mumbai, their son Kabir and their daughter Meera, an architect working in London. The family has money across three banks and commitments in rupees and pounds. A bank offers to simplify matters. Before judging its proposal, what needs checking?
The free preview lets the reader make a simple choice, discover what the evidence reveals and see why family priorities matter. It demonstrates the teaching approach without asking a prospective student to begin with a technical assignment.
What Learners Do
The Mehta story continues throughout the online course, moving from a first question to practical CFO-style work that learners can explain and defend. They bring together records from different providers, distinguish facts from estimates, examine costs and cash timing, put the family's rupee, sterling, Swiss franc, euro and US dollar accounts into one reporting currency at stated rates and dates, question advisers and communicate fairly with family members whose priorities differ.
The programme follows PWFO's original twelve-module syllabus, including the Seven Key Processes. Learners develop a financial inventory, a Matching Analysis, questions for advisers, a conflict log, a family report and a final Adviser Oversight Memo. PWFO practitioners do not give Financial Advice; they learn to scrutinise information and advice. Final assessment, marking and completion arrangements will be stated before enrolment.
How It Fits Alongside Your Curriculum
Delivered Online, with an independently completable course core and no mandatory physical attendance. Your institution's work is academic and partnership review, suitable introductions and agreed coordination; your faculty are not required to teach or mark the course. Optional AI practice has a complete non-AI route, so no paid tools are needed.
The same online course core serves school-referred and direct learners. In addition, for every five students enrolled through the school, PWFO will offer a weekly, hour-long FAQ session. These sessions provide a place to ask questions about the learning; they do not provide personal Financial Advice or automatically include individual assignment marking.
Commercial Schedule — Agreed Economics, Contract Required
- Student price: ₹1 lakh (₹1,00,000) per enrolment at the agreed full price (indicatively about CHF 867 or about US$1,055 at ECB euro reference rates for 22 October 2026; orientation only).
- Eligible school commission: ₹40,000 per qualifying sale under a signed referral agreement.
- PWFO allocation: ₹60,000 before costs, not net profit.
- Upfront association fee: none assumed in this model.
- Direct enrolment: ₹1 lakh (₹1,00,000) and no school payable.
Arithmetic illustration only, not a forecast or target: if 10 eligible referred learners enrol at the full price, commission is 10 × ₹40,000 = ₹4,00,000 and PWFO's allocation before costs is 10 × ₹60,000 = ₹6,00,000.
Eligibility, settlement timing, refunds and chargebacks, partial refunds, tax and withholding, and reconciliation need a signed operating schedule. No payment obligation exists until that agreement is signed and a qualifying sale has settled. Processor fees, currency conversion and tax cannot silently change the agreed 40,000/60,000 allocation; their treatment needs explicit agreement.
Currency Schedule — Proposed, Contract Required
- Advertised price: ₹1 lakh (₹1,00,000), with indicative CHF and US$ equivalents labelled by source and date.
- Checkout currency: to be confirmed once PWFO's payment provider is verified. Not decided here.
- PWFO base currency: CHF. The payment-provider settlement account and its currency remain unverified.
- School commission: the obligation is ₹40,000 per eligible referral, expressed in rupees. The payout currency and any conversion basis are to be agreed in the signed schedule.
